PLAF008Illustrated overview
A useful fit for

A one-bowl dry-kibble routine that can be programmed on the feeder, with a checked battery plan.

The main tradeoff

The maker recommends mains for the normal routine; battery operation and a single feeding position still need regular checks.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Is this the Air model for app-managed cordless feeding?

The PLAF008 is the locally scheduled Air Automatic model. The rechargeable app-connected Air Smart is PLAF108; keep the exact model rather than transferring features between the shared names.

Can I add two bowls later?

The exact PLAF008 FAQ says it does not support a dual-bowl attachment. Choose a documented two-bowl configuration when simultaneous bowls are essential.

Can it work with ordinary 8 mm dry kibble and no nearby outlet?

The published regular dry-food range is 2–15 mm and the maker permits battery-only operation, while recommending the adapter and backup cells. Check food shape and real delivery, and maintain the actual batteries rather than assume the estimated runtime.

The PETLIBRO Air PLAF008 suits a dry-food routine you want to program at the feeder, with local warning lights and a battery option. It is the Air Automatic model, not the app-connected PLAF108. That model-number distinction matters more than the shared Air name when choosing how you will set meals and respond to problems.

A local routine rather than a remote dashboard

The PLAF008 documentation describes scheduled meals, a recorded meal call and indicators on the unit. Its practical role is to deliver an existing plan without making phone monitoring the center of the setup. If you need to change the plan while away, select a model that explicitly provides remote app control instead of assuming every Air feeder connects to one.

The local low-food and blockage indicators are useful when someone is there to notice them. They are not equivalent to a documented remote alert reaching your phone. Place the feeder where its display can be checked as part of the refill routine. PETLIBRO PLAF008 support details.

Match the actual food, not just the word kibble

PETLIBRO gives a regular dry-food diameter range of 2–15 mm. Compare the food you actually use with that range and the exact instructions. A different shape or food mixture can still need additional checking; a nominal diameter is not an independent jam-resistance test.

This is a dry-food dispensing path. A tray feeder is the more relevant format when prepared wet meals are essential. For the dry routine, watch several initial releases with the intended food and check the amount that arrives rather than treat a portion setting as a guaranteed number of grams.

The battery option needs a realistic plan

The manufacturer says the PLAF008 can work solely on batteries for approximately 180 days, while recommending the supplied 5 V / 1 A adapter and cable for normal use with three alkaline D cells installed as backup. That is a documented battery-only capability with a mains recommendation, not an unconditional six-month runtime guarantee.

For a location without a convenient outlet, decide whether checking and replacing the actual cells fits your routine. For an outlet-powered setup, installing the backup cells before a power interruption is the useful precaution. Neither arrangement excuses an empty hopper or a blocked outlet.

Also keep this separate from the PLAF108's rechargeable battery and app-managed cordless design. Buying a feeder called Air does not establish which of those power and control arrangements will arrive.

It is not a dual-bowl conversion platform

The exact PLAF008 FAQ says a dual-bowl attachment is not supported. That makes it a poor starting point when simultaneous bowls are an essential choice in the finder, even though another PETLIBRO family offers a splitter.

One accessible bowl also does not separate animals by identity. A second cat may approach a serving. If the main problem is a fast eater taking another pet's food, a protected-access design addresses that need more directly than adding more timed releases to an open bowl.

Cleaning and consumables are part of ownership

The stainless-steel bowl is the only part the maker calls dishwasher-safe. Other removable food-path parts have their own washing directions, and the electronic base is wiped rather than submerged. Keep the parts sorted during cleaning and dry them before reassembly.

The support page also says a desiccant bag is not included. If you plan to use one, choose the appropriate food-grade bag and the maker's specified fit; a larger improvised packet should not interfere with the mechanism.

Choose PLAF008 for local dry-food scheduling when its food range, one-bowl format and battery/mains choices suit the home. Choose PLAF108 for a specifically documented cordless app routine, or a Granary variant when another bowl or storage configuration is the deciding factor. The useful comparison is the complete model and daily workflow, rather than a generic smart-feeder label.
